This project addressed how we visualize the changes in our communities to demonstrate the severity of gentrification. Our solution was to display images of former businesses before closure, juxtaposed with new developments in the background. On the backside of the sign, quotes from former customers are written to provide context for the viewer to understand the community’s relationship with the businesses.
